Air suspension systems (Airride) allow stepless lowering at the push of a button using special shock absorbers with air springs instead of steel springs. Vehicle height can be adjusted flexibly—from stock level to extreme lowering. Key components include compressors, air tanks, valves, and control systems. Compressed air raises or lowers the vehicle automatically as needed. In addition to an aggressive look, air suspension provides protection at curbs and driveways. TA Technix offers high-quality, TÜV-certified air suspension kits with parts certificates, expert advice, fast delivery, and high registration approval rates.

Air Suspension Systems – Lowering at the Push of a Button

Air suspension systems are extremely popular in the tuning scene. No wonder, as airride suspension allows stepless lowering conveniently at the push of a button. This is made possible by special shock absorbers combined with an air spring, which replaces the conventional steel springs used in standard suspension systems. With this design, you remain fully flexible when it comes to your vehicle’s ride height.

If you want to retrofit your vehicle with an air suspension system, TA Technix is the right place for you. We offer a wide selection of air suspension systems. Most of our air suspension kits are supplied with a parts certificate and are therefore approved for registration. Feel free to contact us for expert advice.

What is an air suspension system?

An air suspension system uses pneumatic suspension technology. Air suspension systems, also known as airride suspensions, allow the vehicle to be lowered or raised steplessly at the push of a button, depending on the situation.

This means you benefit from increased flexibility thanks to pneumatic pressure adjustment. The vehicle height can be set from the factory level all the way down to extreme lowering. At TA Technix, we exclusively offer tuning air suspension systems for lowering, not for lifting.

Which components are included in an air suspension system?

An air suspension system uses special shock absorbers in combination with an air spring. This replaces the typical mechanical suspension, which usually consists of a steel spring.

During installation of an air suspension system, numerous components are mounted inside the vehicle, including compressors, air lines, solenoid valves, and air tanks.

How does an air suspension system work?

By supplying compressed air, the air spring fills and raises the vehicle. Releasing air from the air spring lowers the vehicle again, creating the characteristic exhaust sound.

Operation is usually via a switch inside the vehicle or via a fully automatic air management system, which regulates the air supply through solenoid valves. To fill the system, compressed air is generated by a compressor that draws in ambient air and pumps it into the air tank.

To release air, the exhaust valves are opened. In the event of pressure loss or overpressure, the compressor automatically switches on when the minimum pressure is reached and switches off at maximum pressure. This ensures the air suspension system always remains exactly as adjusted for the current situation.

In addition to its functionality, the visual impact is also impressive and is another reason why car tuners choose air suspension systems. Tuning enthusiasts particularly appreciate the stepless and maximum height adjustment of the vehicle.

At the same time, the system provides reliable protection for the vehicle when encountering high curbs and steep driveways. It is important that installation is carried out by a professional who takes all TÜV-relevant requirements into account.
